Thomas Sneak Peek : Middle Georgia Bridal Photographer

Last weekend I had the opportunity to meet a truly wonderful couple on a seriously gorgeous piece of property.  This couple was married in November and decided they wanted some bridal photos that fit their personalities a little bit  more.  Walking around the property for the first time was such a treat - it was simply beautiful with huge trees, tons of Spanish Moss and a lovely river.  The icing on the cake?  The gorgeous horses!  Oooh, I love horses!  Getting to do a photo shoot that included these magnificent creatures was so awesome.

I just loved this shoot - a beautiful young woman, a guy with a great sense of humor and a great smile!

Susannah and Jim, thanks so much for showing us around and for being so wonderful during our shoot!  We enjoyed it SO much!

Our Contest Winner!! : Middle Georgia Photographer

Several months ago we held a contest on our Facebook fan page for a free photo session - the response was wonderful and we were simply floored by it!  The contestants were determined and kept the votes coming in. The contest was so. close. In the end our winner was Michelle Harrelson - and we are so glad we had the opportunity to work with her and her husband.  They were both so kind, so fun and very patient as we explored a new location.  Despite the fact that Dusty didn't want to smile for me (lol!!!) I managed to get a few grins out of him (whether he liked it or not! hehehe)  You have to understand..I'm goofy by nature, and a tad clumsy, so needless to say there were a few situations where they couldn't help but laugh! At me!

We spent a couple of hours shooting - walking around, finding really old, cool buildings to shoot at and in.  I truly had a wonderful time with Michelle and Dusty!  Here are a few sneaks from our day:

We came acros this really cool, old laundry mat.  I have always wanted to shoot in a laundry mat...I have no idea why, but I have lol!  I just love the rows of washing machines...the depth, the texture.  They were totally game, so, in we went!  Despite nearly falling into a door and scaring myself half to death we had a good time and lots of laughs....some of those due to my nearly falling in the door...but I digress...

This is one of my favorite ring shots ever.  Ever.  I saw the coin slot and knew we had to put her rings there and get a ring shot!!

This was the coolest old building....it was definitely run down and it was missing a roof, but, it had the creamiest light!  We got around all of the glass and took advantage of the wonderful texture of the building!

This is one of my favorite photos from the day.  Doesn't she have a gorgeous smile?  I mean it!  And I love the way Dusty is looking at her.  There is a funny story behind this too - see, I don't believe in a lot of posing.  I try to keep the session as natural as possible and shoot people as they truly are...I don't do a lot of "tilt your head this way" or things like that.  I'll direct my clients...but I don't believe in putting them into a pose that's just plain uncomfortable or unflattering.  So, when I popped out with "I want you to touch foreheads...like osmosis or something" they were both puzzled but started to do it.  Needless to say, they found the pose kind of awkward and promptly started cracking up laughing and joking with eachother....which resulted in the above photo.  Just as I had hoped.

We came across this old building...and right out front was a windmill that was....creepy.  The sound it made as it turned was just....uh...chilling lol!  Despite the creepy factor, this building was awesome and again, the light was just perfect!

And one more....another favorite...

Michelle, Dusty, thank you so much for being so wonderful.  We had an absolute blast with you guys!!  XOXO

Holmes Engagement Session : Middle Georgia Wedding Photographer

When Leann asked about shooting her engagement photos in downtown Valdosta I immediately said YES!  Having never shot there I was a bit nervous, but, I was so excited to go to a new location and discover all of its treasures.  The weather was gorgeous in the week leading up to our session.  That Saturday, I took the trip down to Valdosta and within 15 minutes of arriving the storm started rolling in.  I couldn't believe our bad luck!  Despite the crummy weather we got out there and started shooting.  Leann and Tyler are seriously some of the coolest people I have had the opportunity to meet.  They were so relaxed and so much fun.  They both had terrific senses of humor and were up for anything, including standing in the rain for a few photos and getting soaked!

After about 45 minutes of trying to wait out the worst of the storm we finally decided to head a little further South and cross over the Florida state line.  After checking the weather and finding clear skies we decided to try our luck at a gorgeous location called Blue Springs.  Let me tell you....this place was stunning.  The water was crystal clear and coooold.  But, Leann and Tyler hopped in and worked the camera like pros!

Leann and Tyler, thanks so much for letting us spend the day with you and for showing us around your awesome city!  We loved every second of it!
